WHO
Punchfunk is a vehicle for original music written by Jason Spillman. He has written and released music with the bands My Blind Alley, The Deluge, World Echo, and Goodnight Freeman. He is an active studio session player and is available for remote recording.
HOW
Jason is based in Denver, CO and is an established bass player in the area. He plays bass for multiple projects and theatrical performances. He is the owner or Studio 44; a rehearsal and recording studio in Denver. Jason plays bass professionally but also plays guitar, drums, and sings.
WHY
Punchfunk is an outlet for writing songs that do not fit into boxes. There is no master plan in this material; it is chaotic and messy and unexpected. Punchfunk would not exist without the other musicians who contribute and add their own flavors to the mix.
WHEN
Jason Spillman got his first bass in 1986 on his 16th birthday. He has played bass and written music since then.
